Asal Mosavvar Rahmani, aged 31, grew up in a sports-oriented family, which inspired her to pursue sports. As a child, she enjoyed running and ping pong. However, during her teenage years, she developed a passion for martial arts and in her twenties, she pursued kickboxing despite her family’s objections. Asal achieved success in kick-light kickboxing, earning a national competition medal, as well as obtaining referee and training licenses. Despite the popularity of kickboxing among Iranian girls and the presence of highly skilled competitors on the national team, there was no independent federation dedicated to organizing league competitions for this sport. Consequently, most Iranian kickboxing athletes participate in international competitions and tournaments at their own expense.
