The Norouzabad Horse Racing complex, situated in the Khalij-e Fars (Persian Gulf) district near the old Tehran-Karaj road, serves as a gathering place for horse racers from across Iran for a continuous period of 16 weeks. More than 500 horses participate in this thrilling competition. While Gonbad-e Kavoos has traditionally been recognized as Iran’s primary horse racing venue, the summer competitions held in Norouzabad have gained significant popularity in recent times.
