Bandar Anzali, the rainiest city in Iran is situated on the southeastern coast of the Caspian Sea. The city witnessed a remarkable comeback of its women’s football team, Malavan, after a two-year break. The team had faced a significant crisis fueled by widespread rumors from spectators, leading to its temporary closure. This unfortunate decision was prompted by an unforgettable statement made by one of the officials who remarked, “A sinking ship must jettison excess weight into the sea to survive.” However, in 2018, the team made a comeback with a new head coach, determined to prove otherwise.
On December 21, 2018, at Raah Ahan Stadium, Malavan football team achieved a resounding victory over Azarakhsh, defeating them with a remarkable score of 8-0.
